Q.
The program generates an error message that says unable to open
file C:\Program Files\Intelliquis\Totalfax\Grupper.dbf. Along with
other error messages such as cannot open program on a closed data
set.
A.
Basically, you have opened Total Fax too many times into memory
and you need to close all instances of the program. When you minimize
Total Fax it places an icon down in the tool bar next to the time.
If you see this icon you need to click on this icon in order to
reopen Total Fax. If you do not see this icon down in the tool bar
then Total Fax is not running, and you can open it using your desktop
or the windows start menu. Simply reboot your PC to clear the memory.

A.
We have come out with an update
that fixes that bug. Download
the file called tfax40.exe and that should take care of the problem.
(Make sure that you have TotalFax completely closed when you run
the patch.)

Q.Total
Fax keeps giving me the following error message "bad response
from modem error." What should I do?
A.
If your dialing long distance numbers make sure that you place a
1 in front of the area code. You may also need to put a 1 in front
of the number for Intelliquis' registration process. Several modems
including: HSP Micromodems, US Robotics, and Conexant need to have
the Settings and then on Modem and change the connect
using box to "direct to com?" (which ever com port your
modem is on.) You will also need to change your printer properties
on the TotalFax fax printer to print to that Com port as well.
Q.
How can I get Total Fax to automatically receive faxes?
A.
You will need to go to Settings then click on Fax. When that opens,
click on the Incoming Fax tab and select automatic answer. After
this is done you will need to initialize the modem so that it occupying
your line. You do this by clicking on the big red button that is
at the top left hand side of your Total Fax program. (the big red
button will turn into a little red button)

Q.
How do I design cover pages in Cover Page Editor.
A.
This will hopefully explain things a little better for those who
are having problems with using the Cover Page Editor.
The
Cover Page Creator uses object fields to create the cover sheets.
The object fields are represented by 8 boxes surrounding the field.
(one on each corner and one in center of the Top, Bottom, and Both
Sides of the field. )
There
are 5 different types of fields you can insert into your cover pages,
which are represented by icons on the right side of the top tool
bar. These fields are:
Box/Line - This button is used to place lines or boxes on the
cover sheet. If you look at the general cover sheet that comes
with the program you will notice the boxes.
Text - This button is used to place a field on your cover sheet,
in which you can place whatever text writing you want. You enter
the text in the text box that appears in the new tool bar when
you specify or select a text field. You can change the font and
other properties of the text with the toolbar.
Figure - This button is used to insert different shapes into your
cover sheet. You can change the shapes and their properties in
the tool bar that appears when you specify or select a figure.
Picture
- This button is used to insert a picture or logo that you have
created in a paint program. You can change the picture by specifying
a new file. You do this by clicking on field and then clicking
on the open folder icon in the tool bar.
Input/edit
- This button is used to insert an input fields. You can select
from: message, from fax, from name, to fax, to name. These fields
are automatically filled in by Total Fax from your address book
information that you entered. The message field is filled in with
whatever you typed in the box under your send list box on the fax
page.
You
can create new fields by clicking on the icon for the type of field
you want, located on the tool bar at the top, and then clicking
on the cover page where you want to place the field. You then specify
what you want to appear in that field.
You
can modify or change the field by simply clicking on the field.
This should bring up the little boxes around the field and the properties
for that field. You can change the size of the field by simply clicking
on the boxes around the field and dragging them to the size you
want. You can also move the field by clicking on the center of the
field and dragging it to the place on the cover sheet where you
want it.
If
you have any other problems or things which needs to be explained
better concerning the Cover Page Editor, please let us know so we
can add them.
